THE FIRST STEP
I wrote Demystifying PANS/PANDAS: A functional medicine desktop reference on Basal Ganglia Encephalitis for parents and caregivers to bring to their current practitioners. I have also developed a mentorship and training program for medical professionals around treating PANS/PANDAS. Unfortunately, I can’t treat every child in need, which is why I encourage you to use the book and program to work with your existing practitioners to treat your child.
ABOUT MY TREATMENT STYLE
Dr. O’Hara takes a holistic approach when treating a patient: she assesses the whole child and their health history when making a diagnosis, and considers every aspect of their life and lifestyle when formulating a treatment plan. This is an intensive process where she leaves no stone unturned — so be prepared for long consultations, and please bring any and all paperwork and previous health/medical documentation along with you. Her treatment plan typically include dietary changes and supplements, among other interventions.
